Since last October, smoking cessation interventions are being done in inpatient. Our institution is the first in the country to perform this type of intervention during hospitalization. The goal is to initiate a definitive cessation treatment for our patients and minimize smoking withdrawal symptoms during the hospital stay according to the existing pattern endorsed by the British Hospital Therapeutics Committee. The treatment is performed by the patient's physicians of our institution in conjunction with the Hospital Smoking Cessation team.
